The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Nuremberg for Middle Franconia presents three companies from the region Spalt/Georgensgmünd on the topic of family friendliness. The companies FATH GmbH Components, CG TEC GmbH and MBFZ toolcraft GmbH helped working parents with childcare during the summer holidays. The aim of this measure was to offer fathers and mothers a better quality of life and to guarantee companies production stability during the summer holidays. The IHK honours this commitment with a documentary film, which was published on the IHK professional employee blog.
Spalt 10.10.2019 - As in many regions working parents are faced with the big challenge at the beginning of the holidays: "How can I supervise my school-age children and work at the same time? The answer for the companies FATH GmbH Components, CG TEC GmbH and MBFZ toolcraft GmbH was a joint 'Child Holiday Care' during the summer holidays. Working parents had the opportunity to have their children cared for from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. within a flexible time frame. Among a visit of the Nuremberg Zoo, the Nuremberg Fire Brigade and a tour trip on the 'MS Brombachsee', the children visited MBFZ toolcraft GmbH for lunch. As part of the cooperation between the companies, FATH GmbH has sponsered a picnic and a visit to an ice cream parlor was sponsored by CG TEC GmbH. All in all, the children's days were full of experiences that they told their parents about.
"We regard the child care as a success, because we have already received a lot of positive feedback", reported the three company representatives Kerstin Specht, Human Resources FATH GmbH Components together with Andrea Kipf, Managing Director CG TEC GmbH and Susanne Weigand, Human Resources MBFZ toolcraft GmbH. "We got the idea for the 'Child Holiday Care' from an event of the working group 'Compatibility of Work and Family' and got the ball rolling in our respective companies together with a needs and effort analysis," the three continued. The result of the evaluations showed that a 'Child Holiday Care' on solo attempt for a small and medium-sized company is only possible with above-average effort. This is why the companies FATH GmbH Components, CG TEC GmbH and MBFZ toolcraft GmbH joined forces to overcome the hurdles more easily. As part of the development of the project, the partners also presented their project to the 'Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Committee for Securing Specialized Staff l', which selected it as a lighthouse project.
"This is a good example and something special in a rural area. In this way, companies show that they support working parents in balancing work and family life. We hope that the film will also help other companies to set a precedent for a 'Child Holiday Care', because such measures will enable employers to become actively involved in supporting skilled workers," concludes Ronald Smutny, a specialist for securing skilled workers at the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) for Middle Franconia. The film was published on the professional employee blog (www.fachkraefte-mittelfranken.de) of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
